Denise Fletcher has come on board as partnerships manager, bringing extensive B2B sales and events experience to the role as the company prepares to launch its first awards program.
Fletcher has built a distinguished career across B2B sales and events, including time at Asia-Pacific's leading B2B media and marketing information brand Mumbrella, where she worked alongside co-founder Martin Lane from the publication's earliest days.
She began at Mumbrella leading the events division before moving into the partnerships manager position, where she collaborated with major clients to advance their marketing objectives and forge creative connections with the Mumbrella audience.
Before Mumbrella, she held events roles at travel titles TNT and Travel Weekly — the latter being where she first crossed paths with Lane.
In her new position, Fletcher will focus on helping commercial partners engage with the audience through the inaugural awards program, website content packages, and the market-leading weekly newsletter.
Lane said: "I've had the pleasure of working with Denise on and off for more than 20 years now and I'm delighted to welcome her to The Cannabis Observer.
"Her greatest skill is her ability to really listen to her clients' business development challenges and create solutions that work for them. She's a great asset not only to our business, but to theirs."
Fletcher, who is attending this week's ACannabis conference in Melbourne, said: "I'm excited to be joining the The Cannabis Observer team at this crucial time for the industry.
"Everyone I have spoken to so far has been so passionate about the work they're doing and I can't wait to play my part in helping them tell their stories to our audience."
