Operations Manager Appointment Signals Fresh Growth Push for Cannabis Media Outlet

Ashleigh Oliver has been appointed operations manager at the cannabis industry publication as the company sets its sights on continued expansion through FY24.

Oliver brings a strong background in business operations, having held positions including general manager/2ic at training and events company Dent Global and office manager/executive assistant to Mia Freedman, founder of Mamamia Women’s Network.

She also previously worked alongside co-founder Martin Lane as business administration manager at publishing and events company Mumbrella from 2017 to 2020.

In her new role, Oliver will oversee day-to-day operations while also managing new product development and expanding the offering available to Premium members.

Her appointment follows the departure of Stephanie Chandra, who spent three years with the company before moving on to become a consulting partner at 113 Partners and senior accountant at Buckley Brown.

Lane said: “We’re very sorry to lose Steph, who has been with us since the beginning and done an amazing job in getting us to where we are now.

“But I’m delighted to welcome Ash to the fold. We could never have built Mumbrella into the business it became without her and she will be such an asset to the team.

“Plus we’ve worked together before, so she knows what she’s getting into.”

Oliver added: “It’s been so exciting watching the journey from afar and I’m looking forward to doing my part in helping take the business – and the industry – to the next level.”

The publication launched its first awards program in FY23, with plans to grow its events portfolio and broaden member services through FY24 and beyond. Partnerships manager Denise Fletcher joined in March.

Oliver can be reached at as******@**********om.au.
