With fewer than 48 hours remaining to submit nominations, the inaugural Cannabis Industry Awards for Australia and New Zealand 2023 are drawing strong interest from both countries.
Entries close this Friday, April 14, after which all submissions will be assessed by the judging panel. The shortlist will be revealed on May 4, with the awards ceremony scheduled for June 8.
Co-founder and chief growth officer Martin Lane said: "We've been overwhelmed by the response so far, especially from New Zealand, where the industry has really got behind the initiative.
"But given where the majority of our audience is based, we expect the balance to swing towards Australian firms in the next two days."
The 36 judges — drawn from the worlds of politics, healthcare, research, consultancy and business — feature some of the most senior figures in their respective fields. Each jury of four will score independently against strict criteria to determine the winners.
Lane added: "It is our mission to highlight the legal cannabis industry's success stories, so we've launched the awards to recognise and reward the best in the business.
"We've made the judging process as rigorous as possible, so if you or your employer take home a gong, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you really earned it."
