MedReleaf Australia's wholly owned New Zealand subsidiary has been granted a supply licence by the country's Medicinal Cannabis Agency, with three product launches planned across the Tasman in 2023.
The licence allows the company to source starting materials, cannabis-based ingredients, and medicinal cannabis products, bring them into New Zealand, and distribute them to local pharmacies.
MedReleaf NZ has also received Ministry of Health approval for three products, with launches scheduled for early 2023.
The MedReleaf Prescriber Program will also be made available to New Zealand doctors seeking to expand their knowledge of medicinal cannabis and its application in patient treatment.
MedReleaf NZ director Jon Lamb said: “The doctors, pharmacists, and patients of New Zealand will soon have access to some of the highest quality and innovative medical cannabis products manufactured under the most stringent conditions in Canada.”
MedReleaf Australia CEO Russell Harding added: “This is an important milestone… We look forward to seeing these well-established and premium brands being prescribed by New Zealand GPs and specialists for the benefit of patients in need of assistance with their chronic conditions.”
