Polln enters medicinal cannabis telehealth market with flat-fee pricing model

Medicinal cannabis telehealth company Polln has officially launched, offering in-depth video consultations with qualified clinicians at a fixed rate of A$110.

Co-founders Chris Nasr and Grace Tan say the company's digital-first approach aims to make medicinal cannabis more accessible to patients, reduce anxiety around judgement, and chip away at the stigma that continues to surround the medicine.

They added: "When building Polln, the most important thing to us was to build an accessible and affordable care model where patients could get the treatments they needed – wherever they may be. For us that meant in-depth video consults that patients could comfortably access in their own home."

To begin the treatment process, prospective patients register an account before gaining access to a personalised dashboard where they can manage bookings, attend video appointments, and view their prescriptions.

After registering, patients are required to complete an initial 30-minute, one-on-one consultation with a cannabis clinician, who reviews their medical history to assess whether they are suitable for treatment.

Polln said it has "chosen to only work with doctors who are aligned with [our] patient-first approach".

Where a prescription is appropriate, patients can retrieve their e-script directly through their dashboard. The Polln team handles all pharmacy dispensing and arranges express delivery of medication to the patient's home.

The company said a dedicated care team will be available to provide ongoing support throughout a patient's treatment.

Polln's price guarantee means patients will not be charged above the recommended retail price for their medication, and no additional dispensing fees apply. The A$110 fee covers the 30-minute video consultation and ongoing access to the care team.

Nasr and Tan added: "We're building a future for healthcare that is tech-driven with a patient focus… We're on a mission to improve not only the health outcomes of our patients, but the way they access their health services Australia-wide."
