Plant Pharm Opens in Perth as Paul Mavor Returns to Pharmacy

Paul Mavor, who founded distribution company Health House International (HHI) and hemp alcohol brand Herbee, has returned to his background in pharmacy.

Together with business partner Mo Albazy, Mavor has launched Plant Pharm in the Perth suburb of Malaga — a full-service pharmacy with a focus on plant-based medicine.

The store stocks an extensive range of hemp food and topical products, and aims to offer "agnostic, unbiased advice with competitive pricing and convenient hours", Mavor said in an interview.

In a post on LinkedIn, he wrote: "Back in the pharmacy game… We are proud to be Western Australia's first dedicated plant-based dispensary.

"As well as carrying prescription and over-the-counter medicine, we are carrying a full range of hemp foods, skincare and pet care [products]. Pharmacy is open seven days from 7am to 7pm.

"Big thanks to my business partner Mo Albazy for doing most of those hours. And as always my beautiful wife Sharlene Mavor for supporting all of my crazy ideas and helping stock the shelves."

Mavor previously ran Ballajura Pharmacy at the same location from 1998, and noted: "Have already had quite a few familiar faces poke their heads through the door and hope to see many more."

He departed HHI in November last year after Melodiol Global Health (formerly Creso Pharma) announced it would acquire the company through an all-scrip deal worth up to A$4.6 million.

Herbee followed the month after.

Mavor will maintain a consulting role with Cannatrek's distribution arm, Greenship.
