Bioxyne, the parent company of Breathe Life Sciences (BLS), has secured A$1.45 million in fresh capital as it moves to grow operations following the granting of a Good Manufacturing Practice licence in February.
The ASX-listed company issued 145 million new shares to incoming and existing shareholders at a price of $0.01c per share.
Chief executive Sam Watson said the fresh funds would support an expansion of manufacturing at the company's Brisbane facility.
"In the short period following the grant of our manufacturing licence we have added approximately $8m in new business to the sales pipeline," he said.
Watson also pointed to opportunities arising from an amended wholesale licence that now allows BLS to develop and facilitate access to finished products containing MDMA and psilocybin.
He described the upgraded licence as "another milestone" for the company, adding that the additional working capital "will accelerate our growth in this endeavour".
Rua Bioscience
New Zealand-based Rua Bioscience is broadening its compassionate access program to cover palliative care patients in Ruatorea and nearby areas along the North Island's east coast.
For two years, the company has provided fully subsidised medication to patients in the Tairawhiti region, with monthly patient numbers climbing from 30 to 37 thanks to additional support from Trust Tairawhiti and other organisations.
Chief executive Paul Naske said the program would now be extended in both scope and reach to include palliative care.
"This new initiative aims to provide fully subsidised, specialised support and care to people in their final stages of life," he said. "Rua is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the community… and the compassionate access program is a key part of this mission, ensuring those in need have access to vital medications."
Botanix Pharmaceuticals
Botanix Pharmaceuticals has been added to the ASX All Ordinaries Index, which tracks the 500 largest companies on the exchange, on the back of a strong share price performance over the past year.
The company credited growing investor interest in its treatment for excessive underarm sweating, which is expected to gain US Food and Drug Administration approval in late June, as a key driver of that performance.
Botanix is also pursuing additional indications for its synthetic CBD formulations, including acne, rosacea and atopic dermatitis.
Melodiol Global Health
Melodiol Global Health posted unaudited revenue of $4.1 million for the first three months of FY24, a 79% increase on the same quarter the previous year.
Its Canada-based Mernova division contributed $1.7m to the total, while Health House International brought in $2.45m, with $647,000 of that figure coming from its UK operations.
The company described the figures as providing a "strong foundation for the remainder of FY24".
Earlier this month Health House announced plans to open its first clinic during the second quarter of the year.
Zelira
Zelira Therapeutics has received a A$919,000 cash refund through the government's R&D tax incentive scheme.
