Health and Wellness Expert George Moskos Appointed to AMCA Board

George Moskos, a specialist in health and wellness brand development, has been named an interim board member of the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA).

Moskos founded Moskos Communications Agency, which partners with some of Australia's most recognisable health, wellness and lifestyle brands.

He also holds the position of CEO at telehealth service Greencare Clinics, an online medical centre focused on plant-based medicine, and is a board member of the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation.

The AMCA noted that Moskos "brings to the role a wealth of industry experience as a branding, communications and business leader having launched a number of highly successful health and wellness ventures".

Among his credentials, he has created, funded and directed brands including Kora Organics (with Miranda Kerr) and Luma Beauty (with Jess Hart).

AMCA Chair and co-founder Lucy Haslam said Moskos "has a broad mix of skills that will be invaluable to AMCA's vision to lead the world in quality, affordable and accessible medicinal cannabis".

She added: "[His] entrepreneurial mindset, experience and industry networks will help AMCA make important inroads into changing perceptions in Australia about the use of plant-based medicines."

Moskos said he was eager to work alongside his fellow board members to drive meaningful change.

"I am fiercely passionate about the health and wellness sector, in particular the area of plant-based medicines, and I am excited about what the future holds for this industry in Australia. To be a part of the AMCA board is a great honour and one which I take very seriously."

Moskos joins four other newly appointed interim board members: Lambert Initiative academic director Professor Iain McGregor, Hunter Pain Specialists director Associate Professor Marc Russo, Austranna CEO Bryan Ebstyne, and Jodie Davis, federal education officer with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation.

In a separate development, Dr Tamara Nation has stepped down from both the AMCA board and the Society of Cannabis Clinicians Australia Chapter (SCCAC) advisory panel, with Davis taking on the vacated role.

Haslam said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Tamara for the significant contribution she has made to AMCA since being appointed a director nearly a year ago.

"[She] has indicated that she still intends to remain an active member of both AMCA and SCCAC, and we look forward to continuing to enjoy her valuable input to both organisations."
