The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA) has expanded its board again, appointing Bryan Ebstyne, CEO of Austranna, as an interim director.
Austranna ranks among Australia's largest licensed medicinal cannabis cultivation companies, with an indoor/glass-roofed growing facility currently under construction near Ipswich, Queensland.
Before entering the cannabis industry, Ebstyne built a career in technology and communications, including a tenure as worldwide industry director at Microsoft. He made the shift to cannabis in 2014 as co-founder of Leaph, Seattle's first industrial-scale cannabis cultivation and processing company.
Prior to relocating to Australia, he co-founded the consultancy Ebstyne & Roth in Düsseldorf, where he successfully secured Germany's 2017 cannabis cultivation licensing tender on behalf of MedReleaf and Aurora in 2018.
The AMCA board has seen a number of key appointments over recent weeks, with Associate Professor Marc Russo and Lambert Initiative academic director Iain McGregor also joining its ranks.
