Discounted Passes to ACannabis Conference Now on Offer

The earlybird window for next month's ACannabis conference has shut, but discounted tickets to the Melbourne event remain available.

Running for three days at the Crowne Promenade from August 10 to 12, the gathering will bring industry figures together to tackle some of the sector's most pressing challenges.

By entering the code , attendees can secure a 10% discount on both two and three-day ticket packages.

Now in its seventh year, the conference carries the theme "cultivating trust, navigating change" — a reflection of how much the sector has shifted, and the pressing need to rebuild confidence following a difficult 18-month stretch.

Across the three days, attendees will hear from regulators, executives, growers, pharmacists, researchers and policy specialists as the industry works through the pressures of fierce competition, close regulatory scrutiny and the possibility of further reform.

The August 10 advisory and compliance day is split into three streams, including a business leadership forum featuring a discussion on mergers and acquisitions with Little Green Pharma CEO Paul Long, Yongji Health director Jackie Wu and Corrs Westgarth Chambers partner Jonathon Farrer.

The remaining two streams will focus on manufacturing and cultivation topics.

The main conference opens with a look at the latest industry data, presented by Honalee co-founder Tom Brown, Penington Institute policy officer Rhys Cohen and NostraData general manager Nick Biggs.

Former MCIA board member Justin Howden will discuss the lessons cannabis can learn from alcohol and nicotine

Justin Howden, a former board member of Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia, will also present, drawing comparisons between medicinal cannabis and the complementary medicine, alcohol and nicotine sectors.

A separate panel will look ahead at where medicinal cannabis in Australia might be in five years, featuring Paul Long, Medigrowth CEO Adam Guskich, ECS Botanics MD and CEO Nan Maree Schoerie, and Medical Cannabis Australia founder and MD Sharon Bentley.

Later that day, newly appointed Medicinal Cannabis Council Australia CEO Gail Morgan will review the organisation's first six months, before a follow-up session in which the MCCA board discusses what lies ahead for the sector.

Day two turns to one of the industry's most urgent questions: how domestic cultivators can remain viable as imports continue to rise.

Puro co-founder Tom Forrest will moderate the panel, which includes Golden Days co-founder Sacha La Forgia, Breathe Life Sciences business and development manager James Yodgee, Hale Farm director Cade Turland and Puro New Zealand co-founder Sank MacFarlane.

Afternoon sessions on day two will feature representatives from the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Office of Drug Control and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, followed by conversations on pharmacy obligations.

Alongside the business program, the sector's achievements will be recognised at the The Cannabis Observer Awards on the evening of August 11 at the Plaza Ballroom.

Comedian Katie Wainhouse returns to host the ceremony, with tickets available here — expected to sell out again, so early booking is advised.
