Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia (MCIA) has announced the full program for ACannabis 2025, with this year's three-day Melbourne conference set to cover regulatory developments, commercial strategy, product innovation and patient care.
The event runs from August 11 to 13 at Crown Promenade. It opens with the annual advisory and compliance day, which has been split into two separate streams this year — one aimed at senior management and another for those in operational roles.
Session topics will include M&A activity, contract manufacturing, plant import biosecurity, IT innovation, financial tools and logistics partnerships.
Representatives from the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Office of Drug Control and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency will be joined by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, which will appear at an ACannabis conference for the first time.
The department's participation will focus on recent changes to import requirements for cultivating materials.
"Their presence reinforces the event's credibility and highlights the collaborative effort towards driving the industry forward," MCIA executive officer Patty Holmes said.
The main conference on August 12 and 13 will feature speakers addressing domestic market dynamics, legislative reform, GMP compliance, product development and sector ethics.
The agenda also includes sessions on medicinal cannabis in aged care, women's health, substance use, as well as updates from regulators and legal professionals.
Aurora senior vice president Rick Savone is among the headline speakers.

A former Canadian ambassador to Brazil, Savone has held senior diplomatic posts in China, the US, Mexico and Algeria, and chaired the Cannabis Council of Canada from 2020 until 2024.
Additional speakers include Pablo Zuanic, Rhys Cohen, Tom Brown, Paul Long, Nan-Maree Schoerie, Justin Sinclair, Tom Forrest, John Ryan and Fiona Patten.
The program will incorporate panel discussions, case studies and Q&A formats, with industry media founder Martin Lane chairing several sessions.
Networking opportunities are built throughout the event, starting with a welcome reception at Yarra Botanica on August 11, followed by drinks on August 12 and a dedicated networking lounge available across both main conference days.
Holmes added: "Join us as we celebrate innovation, seize opportunities, and pave the way for a brighter future in the medicinal cannabis industry."
