Court Date Set for Montu-TGA Dispute; Vitura Advisory Chair Steps Down

Montu, its founder and managing director Christopher Strauch, and the Therapeutic Goods Administration are scheduled to appear before Victoria's Federal Court on June 1, following the adjournment of a case management hearing.

The TGA filed legal action in April 2024 alleging that Montu's clinic, Alternaleaf, and Strauch had unlawfully advertised medicinal cannabis.

Legal representatives for Montu and Strauch must submit any expert evidence on the liability question by May 29, with the TGA afforded three weeks to file its response.

The court has already reserved seven days for the trial.

Vitura Health

Gerard Fogarty, Vitura Health's non-executive director and chair of its Industry Advisory Group, has stepped down with immediate effect.

Fogarty joined the board in November 2024 and was appointed chair of the board in late 2025.

Vitura chair Robert Iervasi praised Fogarty for his "insight and dedication".

A replacement chair for the advisory group, which was set up to provide "expert-base guidance" to the board, will be named "in due course".
