Cann Group has converted chief executive Jenni Pilcher's fixed-term contract into a permanent appointment, effective from the start of the 2026 financial year.
Pilcher entered a 12-month agreement in July 2024, which expired on July 1.
Cann Group chairman Doug Rathbone said the board had been "highly impressed" with Pilcher's performance of CEO and managing director since taking over from previous boss Peter Koetsier.
"We are pleased that she has accepted the position on a permanent basis, a decision that aligns with the best interests of the company," Rathbone said.
Pilcher first joined Cann Group as a non-executive director in September 2020 and moved into an executive role in February 2024.
The company is expected to report its fourth quarter results and full-year financials before the end of the month.
The People’s Plant
Queensland cannabis cultivator The People's Plant has announced it is "days away" from activating its greenhouse, as the company continues its push toward commercial-scale production.
Although the business has built its reputation on sun-grown cultivation, it acknowledged that a "brief but very important part of their journey is in our greenhouse".

"To provide them with everything that they need in this special phase we need environmental control across lighting, humidity, and temperature — which means stable, high-quality, commercial-scale cultivation is nearly ready to roll," the firm said in an update.
The People's Plant also confirmed that construction of its post-harvest facilities is underway and that its previous research and development greenhouse has been torn down.
"Our test grows have served their purpose. Now we're making space for the real thing — clean, efficient, high-volume production facilities," it said.
