New Speakers Announced for United in Compassion Conference, With Discount Codes Available

Several additional speakers have been confirmed for next month's United in Compassion conference, an event widely expected to be the most significant gathering the medicinal cannabis industry has seen since legalisation a decade ago.

Therapeutic Goods Administration officials are scheduled to appear on the third and final day of the event — February 28 — with the regulator's ongoing consultation on medicinal cannabis regulations anticipated to take centre stage.

The conference runs from February 26 to 28 at Brisbane's Royal International Convention Centre, opening just one day after consultation findings are due to be presented to the Medicinal Cannabis Expert Working Group, a forum chaired by TGA chief medical advisor Robyn Langham.

TGA officials have accepted an invitation to present at UIC, and the session is expected to be animated depending on how clearly the proposed reforms have taken shape by that point.

Beyond the regulatory representatives, a range of additional speakers and panellists have been confirmed for the programme.

Among them are SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals founder Michael Sassano, Medigrowth medical and research director Ashleigh Osborne, Heyday Medical co-founder Dr Jim Connell, and Legalise Cannabis MP Brian Walker.

Further additions to the line-up include Easykind product manager Gabriel Younes, harm reduction specialist Dr David Gunn, OnTracka chief executive Chad Walkaden, and Medical Cannabis Australia quality and compliance manager Alanna Lean.

Several international figures will also address the conference, including US physician and Harvard Medical School instructor Dr Peter Grinspoon and Aurora senior vice president of global government relations Rick Savone.
