Deloitte has recognised Montu as Australia's fastest growing technology company for the second year in a row.
The medical cannabis firm recorded revenue growth of 9,616% over three years, earning it the top spot in the 2023 Deloitte Tech Fast 50 — the first time any company has claimed the award in back-to-back years.
Fellow cannabis company Cannatrek came in at 11th place on the list, posting growth of 895%.
Montu managing director Christopher Strauch said: "This win is a testament to how we… have a singular focus on improving affordability and accessibility for patients within this increasingly in-demand industry.
"To be named the fastest growing organisation in Australia – let alone two years in a row, which is a first for any company – is an incredible honour.
"Through refining and streamlining our platforms, we can continue to focus on putting our patients first, even as demand continues to rise."
Montu reported that prescription demand nearly doubled in the last quarter, even as social stigma around the medicine continues to persist.
Strauch added: "Unfortunately, there are still social barriers to people accessing these vital medicines. We are pushing for change at the highest level, as there is no reason we should be treating medical cannabis differently to any other prescription medication."
