Monthly medicinal cannabis prescriptions through the Special Access Scheme surpassed 6,000 for the first time in September, according to the latest figures.
A total of 6,206 prescriptions were written during the month, a rise of nearly 18% on the August figure of 5,270 and up 113% on September 2019.
The result brings the year-to-date number of SAS-B prescriptions to just under 40,000, based on data published by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
The number of Authorised Prescribers jumped from 103 to 115.
