Legalise Cannabis WA has unveiled a second batch of Legislative Assembly candidates for the upcoming state election in March.

Medicinal cannabis patient Mark Charles will contest Baldivis against energy, environment and climate action minister Reece Whitby, while sailmaker John Bell will face regional development and fisheries minister Don Punch in Bunbury.

Web designer Jessica Yu will take on the Liberals in Cottesloe, and founding LCWA member Leo Treasure will challenge Simon Millman in the traditionally Liberal electorate of Mount Lawley.

In the inner-city seat of Perth, party state executive member Shannon Yeh will contest lands and planning minister John Carey, while medically retired mining worker Phil Lesley aims to build on the 6.8% vote share LCWA recorded at the 2023 by-election in Rockingham.

Royal Australian Navy veteran Jim Matters will stand in the newly created seat of Secret Harbour against police and veterans' issues minister Paul Papalia, with LCWA president Fred Mulholland heading the party's campaign in Thornlie.

Long-term disability worker and advocate Shelly Leech will challenge current Liberal leader Libby Mettam in Vasse, while business manager Kunal Parbat will face family and domestic violence minister Sabine Winton in Wanneroo.

LCWA revealed its first ten Assembly candidates the previous week, with a third group expected to be announced before the close of January.

In the upper house, sitting MP Dr Brian Walker heads the ticket, followed by Melissa D'Ath, Dr Craig Buchanan, Frances Barns, Will Safar and Jason Meotti.
