James Vosper has been voted in as the new president of the NSW Industrial Hemp Association, taking over from Andrew Katelaris, who held the role for the past two years.
Vosper has a background in the medicinal cannabis sector and is CEO of Carbon Futures, a company focused on helping farmers with carbon accounting and trading.
He also holds the position of vice president at the Australian Industrial Hemp Alliance and sits on the Federation of Industrial Hemp Organisations' sustainability committee as Australia's representative.
Arthur Wajs, who runs Hemp Fields Australia — a business involved in nutritional hemp-based products for pets — will take on the role of vice president.
Also joining the association's committee are Dr Mary Cole, a regenerative farmer, soil scientist and global consultant, along with Kevin Wortes, the founder of Riverlands and inventor of a hempcrete fence post and rail system.
