New Zealand-based Helius Therapeutics has entered into a strategic agreement with Balancial Denmark, paving the way for its medicinal cannabis extracts to reach the Danish pharmaceutical market.
The agreement gives Helius its first foothold in Denmark, a country that has seen approximately 10,000 patients access its medicinal cannabis program since the scheme launched in 2018.
As part of the deal, both companies will provide educational support to healthcare professionals, covering product information, best practices for patient management, and ongoing training to help integrate medicinal cannabis effectively into treatment plans.
"The goal is to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and resources necessary to offer informed guidance and optimize patient outcomes," they said.
Helius Therapeutics CEO Carmen Doran said: "Our partnership with Balancial Denmark is a significant milestone in our mission to broaden access to high-quality medicinal cannabis. We are confident that our New Zealand-grown extracts will meet the high standards expected in the Danish market and positively impact patient care."
Balancial Denmark managing director Bo Tandrup added: "We are delighted to collaborate with Helius Therapeutics to introduce their medicinal cannabis extracts to Denmark. This partnership underscores our dedication to providing advanced treatment solutions while adhering to the highest regulatory standards."
Earlier this week, Helius Therapeutics announced a partnership with Novachem to bring its products to Australia.
