Helius Therapeutics recently brought together over 40 pharmacists for an educational session held in partnership with Auckland's East Health Trust.
The event took place at the New Zealand company's EU-GMP and GACP-certified facility, with the goal of equipping pharmacists with the understanding and confidence needed to achieve positive patient outcomes when dispensing medicinal cannabis and providing guidance to those using it.
Attendee Vicky Chan said: "Even as a pharmacist, the world of medicinal cannabis can be overwhelming and confusing. By providing educational resources tailored to the NZ context, Helius helps healthcare providers empower their patients to make informed decisions about their health."
East Health Trust delivers primary healthcare services to a patient base of more than 120,000 enrolled members across the East Auckland region.
Helius has announced plans to hold additional events for healthcare professionals over the coming months.
