Alabama and Mississippi lead the nation in CBD curiosity, Google search data reveals

New data examining US Google search behaviour has identified Alabama and Mississippi as the states where residents are most actively seeking information about CBD.

CBD and hemp resource Nature and Bloom examined Google Trends data spanning the past 12 months to determine which states show the greatest interest in CBD-related research.

Alabama came out on top, with searches including 'CBD shop near me' and 'CBD' among the most common queries from residents.

Mississippi placed second, where people were frequently searching for terms like 'What is CBD' and 'Buy CBD'.

West Virginia ranked third, while South Carolina and Vermont tied for fourth place. Kentucky and Tennessee shared fifth position.

Southern and Republican-leaning states, where recreational cannabis has not yet been legalised, dominated the upper portion of the rankings.

At the other end of the spectrum, Massachusetts showed the least interest in CBD searches, followed by Utah, Illinois, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and California.
