ECS Botanics Reports Record May Revenue as Annual Output Jumps Over 50%

ECS Botanics expanded its output by more than 50% over the past year after installing six protective cropping enclosures (PCE) at its Murray River facility in Victoria.

The company harvested 4.25 tons of dried cannabis flower, a 51.5% increase on the prior year, even as severe flooding disrupted operations in November 2022.

In a business update, ECS reported "sustained high demand" for its oil and flower products, with unaudited May sales reaching a record A$2.8 million — 18% above the company's highest previous monthly result.

The company is also running a trial inside one of its newly built PCEs designed to extend the growing season and boost production capacity. The trial will evaluate the commercial and quality outcomes of using supplemental lighting and heating to allow for additional crop cycles each year.

Managing director Nan-Maree Schoerie marked the company's three wins at the inaugural The Cannabis Observer Awards for Australia and New Zealand with a statement to the ASX: "As a business leader, there is no greater reward than being acknowledged as the best place to work.

"At ECS, we have been fortunate enough to assemble an exceptional team of talented and passionate individuals. The fact that they genuinely enjoy working for ECS gives [us] a strong advantage as we strive to sustain our remarkable growth."
