Ahead of a scheduled government roundtable in late March, Drive Change has begun a campaign encouraging people to write letters to their representatives.
The organization, which focuses on drug-driving policy issues, is calling on patients, medical staff, and industry figures to write to their local MPs, sharing their own experiences with medicinal cannabis and making the case for legislative reform.
Through the Drive Change website, participants can choose to send either an email or a formatted letter, or both. According to the organization, direct communication from community members is the most effective method for patients to voice concerns about laws they view as discriminatory and to advocate for equal treatment.
Following this letter campaign, a national gathering scheduled for March 29 will provide information about drug-driving legislation to MPs and government representatives in a confidential setting.
In tandem with this effort, the organization's petition on change.org, which seeks to eliminate discriminatory provisions in drug-driving legislation, has surpassed 20,000 signatures.
