Vitura Health's CanView distribution platform has reached 1.5 million medicinal cannabis units dispatched, and the company expects that figure to surpass two million within the next six months.
Vitura noted that reaching the one million unit mark took two and a half years, whereas the platform is now turning over 250,000 units every quarter.
"With the continued growth of unit sales, we anticipate that the two millionth unit should be sold through the platform by the end of calendar 2023," Vitura chief executive and executive director Rodney Cocks said.
The latter half of the year is also expected to bring the completion of CanView 2.0, an upgrade the company says will deliver a more efficient and improved experience for patients, prescribers, pharmacists and suppliers alike.
The update, which is being progressively rolled out, is anticipated to draw additional doctors and pharmacies onto the CanView platform, according to Vitura.
The platform currently hosts around 3,600 prescribers and pharmacists, along with 250 products sourced from nearly 35 domestic and international suppliers.
Cocks said: "The deployment of the CanView 2.0 software is nearing completion which will offer patients, prescribers, pharmacists and suppliers increased functionality, ease of use and efficiencies that are expected to drive further adoption and usage."
He added that the steady migration of patients onto the platform builds on the recent launches of the pharmacy app and the prescriber and patient app.
Vitura shares are currently trading at A$0.38c, giving it a market capitalisation of $211.5 million.
CanView took home the Innovation Award at the Australia and New Zealand Cannabis Industry Awards 2023 last week.
