Australian medicinal cannabis company Cannim is set to make its first appearance on the global television series High Science this Thursday.
High Science is produced by Emmy Award winner David McKillop, known for Duck Dynasty, Ice Road Truckers, and Deadliest Catch, alongside entertainment executive Ed Leclere. The series takes a thorough look at the many facets of the cannabis industry.
The first three episodes of the series cover recreational cannabis use, while Thursday's episode is the first of two dedicated to examining the plant's medical applications.
Cannim chief growth officer Stuart Marsh conducted interviews with patients from across the world for the program, exploring how medicinal cannabis has helped people dealing with conditions such as chronic pain, insomnia, and anxiety.
"There's still a lot of stigma around cannabis use for medical purposes," he said. "By sharing real patient stories, we can show how it has improved lives and help shift public perception."
Marsh noted that some current cannabis regulations stem from its prohibition-era history rather than contemporary understanding of its medical uses.
"High Science gives us a chance to showcase the powerful impact of cannabis and hopefully encourage more information sharing and compassionate policies," he added.
Cannim's debut on High Science will air during episode four on Thursday, December 12 at 11:20am AEDT on YouTube.
