Cann Group makes Jenni Pilcher's CEO and MD role permanent following turnaround efforts

Cann Group has formally appointed Jenni Pilcher as its chief executive and managing director, ending nearly four months in which she held the position on an interim basis.

Pilcher's remuneration package includes a base salary of A$375,000, with performance-linked short-term incentives ranging from 50% to 120% of that figure.

Cann Group chairman Julian Chick said Pilcher had steered the company through several significant challenges since former CEO Peter Koetsier stepped down in March, among them the re-release of its half-year financial results and the resumption of trading on the ASX.

During that period she also led an organisational restructure, drove a cost reduction initiative projected to save $2.15 million annually, and arranged $5 million in debt financing to keep the business funded, he added.

"Whilst dealing with the financial challenges of Cann during this period, Jenni has developed a clear, well-defined strategy focusing on the production of high quality GMP medicinal cannabis of various forms to meet market demand, driving revenue growth and positive EBITDA in the short term," Chick said. "I am confident that under Jenni's leadership, particularly with her strong financial background, Cann can successfully execute this strategy."

Pilcher first joined Cann Group as a non-executive director in September 2020 before transitioning into an executive role in February 2024.

Until January this year she was chief financial officer and company secretary at technology communications company Whispir. Prior to that Pilcher was global CFO at digital imaging firm Mach7 Technologies.
