Bod Science has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent with Malaysian investment firm Antah Group, with both parties agreeing to identify, develop and commercialise medicinal cannabis products in Malaysia.
Under the arrangement, Bod's products and delivery platforms will feature in clinical trials, with Antah receiving exclusive rights to sell and distribute the trial product within Malaysia. Target therapeutic areas include autism spectrum disorder, anxiety and depression.
Both companies said the agreement positions them to gain a first-mover advantage once Malaysia establishes a regulated medicinal cannabis market. The country has yet to conduct its first clinical trial involving the medicine.
Bod pointed to the growth trajectory of neighbouring Thailand's legal cannabis market, which is projected to reach US$9.6 billion by 2030, a figure driven largely by expanding medicinal use.
CEO Jo Patterson said the collaboration gives Bod a "value-driving opportunity to be at the forefront of exploration into the use of medical cannabis in the Malaysian healthcare industry alongside one of the country's largest companies".
She added: "Bod's unique delivery platforms, and patented products, will have a first-mover advantage via Antah's exclusive rights for sales and distribution in the Malaysian market."
Antah Group operates across a range of sectors, including healthcare, power generation and property development.
