Breathe Life Sciences Completes First Commercial GMP Cannabis Gummy Production Run

Bioxyne's Breathe Life Sciences (BLS) has completed its first commercial manufacturing run of THC gummies under its Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) licence, marking the company's entry into Australia's edible cannabis market.

The product range comprises three medicines at varying CBD and THC dosages. Initial purchase orders are already in progress and are expected to be fulfilled by mid-September.

In July, BLS received deposits on orders totalling approximately A$2 million, and during the same period the company entered a two-year manufacture and supply agreement with "one of Australia's largest cannabis companies" for a forecast minimum of $28m worth of the gummy products.

BLS is expanding its gummy production capacity from two million single doses per month to six million in order to keep pace with anticipated market demand.

Founder and CEO of BLS and managing director of Bioxyne Sam Watsom said: "As a leading Australian cannabis manufacturer, we are supplying our pharmaceutical goods to both domestic and international markets, using established relationships and existing supply channels."

BLS general manager Jason Stephens added: "This is a significant milestone for Australian pharmaceutical manufacturing and the medical cannabis industry as a whole."

Pastilles are gaining in popularity as a dosage form among both doctors and patients, according to data from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

BLS said its GMP licence, granted by the TGA in February, positions it as "a first mover in this emerging high-growth domestic market opportunity".
